Prince Charles runs on cooking oil

ECO-FRIENDLY Prince Charles has mothballed two of his favourite cars because they are gas guzzlers.

And the "green" Prince has had two of his official cars - a Jaguar and a Range Rover - converted so they can run on used cooking oil.
Charles has ruled that his treasured Aston Martin and his Bentley must stay in the garage and only be used as a last resort in a bid to save the planet.

Both cars have rarely been started up in the last year. Instead, the Prince travels in either the Jaguar or Ranger Rover, which use bio-diesel fuel converted from cooking oil used to make crisps.

A firm regularly delivers the fuel to Highgrove, in Gloucestershire, and Clarence House, in London, as part of his eco-warrior campaign.

Charles has also installed lowenergy light bulbs and mechanisms in all the lavatories which use less water when flushed.
